“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.”

– Henry Ford

Ever since I was 14, I wanted to be a dietitian. Why? Because I was tired of being overweight and wanted to lose it the “right way.”

Even with that early start in nutrition, I still tried diet after diet. At one point I was a vegetarian, I went gluten free, low carb, 1000 calories a day with way too much exercise, and even a dehydrated food packets which tasted terrible.

I will also say here that I lost weight each time I tried one of these crazy fads. Then, once I gave it up, the pounds piled back on.  After yo yo dieting for years I couldn’t take it anymore.

In the last 2 years of “giving up” I’ve gained 50 pounds from my lowest weight. That’s 25 pounds higher than the diet I went on to get to my lowest weight. I share this to show you that I get it. I know how tempting the “quick fixes” seem, and what it feels like when it doesn’t last.

So I’ve decided it’s time to try something different. My new approach to weight loss and coaching is inspired by self-help gurus Rachel Hollis, Jen Sincero, and Brooke Castillo, as well as habits experts Charels Duhigg and James Clear. Rather than pursuing diets that are unsustainable, I teach my clients how to create individualized healthy habits in their life that help them lose their weight for good.
